Midas is an NPC in Cult of the Lamb found in his cave.
Description
Midas is a blue starfish with a cyan spot around his mouth. He wears a gold crown with a red crystal protruding from it. He wears a brown and yellow robe, only showing his hands and head. He has an upside-down cross between his eyes.
Midas' Cave
Midas greets the Lamb when they first enter Midas' Cave, inviting them to spend their gold for (the chance of) higher rewards. Midas has the ability to turn creatures into gold and to teleport at-will around his domain.
If the Lamb chooses to sacrifice a follower before Midas' throne and add them to his collection, Midas will praise the Lamb for their donation and reward them with a Holy Talisman fragment. The Lamb can sacrifice up to 4 Followers. Note that the Followers cannot be resurrected if sacrificed to Midas.
Crusades (Postgame)
During a random encounter, the Lamb will find Midas scavenging through the corpse of a desiccated follower and distracts them. He immediately rams towards the Lamb, taking away 60% of their current Coin available before vanishing.
This pattern will occur with the first encounter in Darkwood and the second one in Anchordeep, but with the third encounter in the Silk Cradle, Midas will continue to stay where he is even after stealing the Lamb's coins. This leaves him wide open for the Lamb to attack him and steal back their gold. Doing so will net the player the "Shake Down" achievement.

My dear new friend, Midas's Cave serves a certain class of clientele. If you can meet those standards, welcome! If not... Please, look around. You are my guest here. I will leave you to peruse. Should you have any questions, Midas is here to help!"
Donation well
"This is where we trust our precious Gold to the Gods. Sometimes in their benevolence they give back more. Other times, it is lost. But it is not for us mere mortals to question... present company excluded, of course. But for the use of such a service, the organisation would require a... let's call it a donation. For someone of your talents, shall we say 10
Gold Bars?"
After you paid 10 Gold Bars:
"Oh, you are so generous! I would have taken half that amount. You really don't know how to negotiate, are you? The well is at your disposal, make as much use of it as you will. May Fortune be kind!"
Devotion vending machine
"Now I'm sure great Leaders such as yourself get plenty of Devotion from your Followers for free. But surely a visionary like you could always use... more? We can offer you our Devotion for a great price! The price goes up the more you want it, and down the longer you leave it. The question, really, is how long can you resist?"
