Weapons

From Cult of the Lamb Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Weapons are one of the many ways the Red Crown can transform to help The Lamb. They are used to attack and kill Enemies during a crusade.

The damage of one kind of weapon can be increased with the level, while the speed and attacking range won't change with it.

Some Tarot Cards can increase the attributes of the weapons. See the Tarot Cards page for more information about them.

Weapons can be unlocked via Sermons, and are divided into six main categories: Swords, Daggers, Axes, Gauntlets, Hammers, and Blunderbusses.

Stats

Damage

Each weapon displays the average damage in their tooltip. The damage is calculated by the formula:

The result should be rounded to a single decimal point. Because of how the C# code is written, if the second decimal is a 5 one should always round towards the nearest even number(I.E: 2.75 would be rounded up to 2.8, but 2.65 would be rounded down to 2.6).

The damage of each hit has a base value, and it is affected by various factors. The final damage of each hit is calculated by the formula:

[Base value] × (1 + (0.13 + 0.07×[Weapon level]) + [Tarot Card multiplier] + [Fleece multiplier] + [Run Damage multiplier] × [Difficulty modifier]

In this formula, "Tarot Card multiplier" is the multiplier of Tarot Cards that increase your weapon damage (Weeping Moon, All Seeing Sun and Master of the Art); "Fleece multiplier" is the damage boost of Golden Fleece; "Difficulty modifier" is 1 for all difficulties except Easy, which is 1.5

Critical

Critical hits come in two varieties: Merciless and Tarot

  • Merciless crits work on a timer that "charges" it, after which a star will start hovering next to the Lamb's head indicating that the next attack will be a critical hit. The first merciless crit will always take 25 seconds to charge, with each subsequent hits taking between 20 to 30 seconds, chosen randomly. Merciless crits come from Merciless weapons.
  • Tarot crits meanwhile will happen randomly based on chance every attack, and can only occur if the player has the True Sight tarot card.

In either case, a critical hit will always deal x3 the current damage of the weapon, making them especially powerful on hammers. Note that attacking with a merciless weapon while the star is hovering next to the Lamb's head but missing the enemy will waste the critical hit.

Blunderbusses

Blunderbusses deal low to immense damage, depending on how far the gun is shot towards the enemies. Its bullet attack pierces through everything in front of them, allowing for hits towards multiple targets and enemies. The Blunderbuss's heavy attack blasts a concentrated bullet in front of where it's faced, dealing moderate damage in front

The blunderbuss has a three-shell system, which takes a while to recover; attempting to shoot while there's no shell causes the Lamb to shake its head, causing a reset in the cooldown. Blunderbuss

Notes

  • Zealous weapons will not appear between unlocking the last building and defeating The One Who Waits, when all Devotion is replaced with Gold. They will start appearing again in the post-game, when divine inspiration becomes relevant again.
